For the first time since developing the second largest search engine in the world, billionaire Jamie Reed is taking the summer off. He plans to work from the Cape and spend time with his elderly grandmother—and falling in love is not in his plans.

From the moment Jamie and Jessica meet, the attraction is white-hot. Once-overly-focused Jamie can think of little else than sweet, smart, and alluring Jessica, and Jessica discovers a side of herself she never knew existed. But when Jamie’s business encounters trouble and his attorney and best friend intervenes, he proves that the brown-haired beauty is too distracting for Jamie. To make matters worse, it appears that Jessica might not be who she says she is, turning Jamie’s life—and his heart—upside down. In a world where personal information is always one click away, Jamie must decide if he should trust his heart or watch the woman he loves walk away.

In HEARTS at SEASIDE...
Jenna Ward is vivacious, spontaneous, and confident--except when she's around the man who stole her heart years earlier, strikingly handsome, quiet, and reliable Pete Lacroux. After years of trying to get his attention and overwhelmed from dealing with her mother's new cougar lifestyle, Jenna's giving up on Peter--and is ready to explore other men.

As the eldest of five siblings, with an alcoholic father to care for, boat craftsman Pete Lacroux always does the right thing and has no time for a real relationship. He's looking forward to seeing his friend Jenna, a welcome distraction who's so sexy and painfully shy that she equally entertains and confuses him.

When Jenna picks up a hard-bodied construction worker, jealousy ignites Pete's true feelings, and he's unable to ignore the desires for Jenna he never realized he had. But Pete's not the quiet guy he appears to be, and his life is anything but conducive to a relationship. Can Jenna handle the real Pete Lacroux--the most alpha male she's ever seen--or will she crack under pressure? And can Pete reclaim the life he once had without tearing apart his family?

AUTHOR BIO

Livia Jamerlan is the author of Divided. She is also a hopeless romantic who is always looking for her next love story to pop in her head. Though Livia kept a journal throughout her early life, she never thought about pursuing a career in writing. She always used it as form of therapy, pouring her heart out into words. It wasn’t until a story developed in her head that she decided maybe she could write a book. At first it was just an escape from reality, but now she uses it as a power to put all her feelings, hopes, and fears on paper. Deciding it was time to tell her story, she began to write. With each passing day the story grew, characters were formed, and what seemed like a hobby at first has now become a passion for Livia.

She is a New Jersey Native who loves spending time with her husband and two dogs Buddy and Daisy. When she is not writing or hiding behind her Kindle, you can find her with outside, gardening, at a local shopping center enjoying some retail therapy, or enjoy a pepperoni pizza.

What sparked your interest in becoming a romance writer? I always had an active imagination. And when I was in college I joked that I wanted to write a story. It wasn't until I couldn’t shut the characters up in my head that I decided to write.

What was the first romance novel you read that made an impression on you? I would say Slammed by Colleen Hoover.

Tell us 5 surprising things about yourself. I love pizza. Like LOVE! I am a first time mommy to a 6 month old baby boy. I was born in Brazil and came here at the age of 6. I believe Nutella can cure wounds.  I am obsessed with covers.

What is your writing environment. I have an office in my house that I consider my writing cave.

Do you plan all your characters out before you start a story or do they develop as you write? Yes, all before. And they are usually based off of people in my life.

One of your favorite quotes. “There is no telling how many miles you will have to run while chasing your dreams.”

Do you have a website recommendation for other writers? Writersdigest.com

Who is your perfect hero? And why? I need to say my mother. She is a strong woman, she worked her butt off to give me a better life and she is a phenomenal mother. I hope to be just like her.

Which authors have caught your interest lately? Why? I am reading Nine Minutes by Beth Flynn and I love it. She is talented writer and the story is captivating.

What type of book have you always wanted to write? Paranormal I want to train my brain to create a world.

Who are your dream dinner party guests? Jay-z, Jimmy Fallon, Justin Timberlake, Oprah,

What’s the last movie you watched and loved? Fifty Shades of Grey ;)

Most _____________ in high school. (popular, nerdy, sporty…) Why? Popular. I was captain of the Cheerleading squad and dated the jock.

Top three things on your bucket list. Sky Diving,  Visiting Bora Bora, Visit the Seven Wonders of World

How did you get the idea for this particular novel? I got the idea from Consensual from a friend who was in law school and cleaning houses for extra cash. The story just started to flow.

What is your favorite scene in your new release? The engagement party scene.

If you could be one of your characters - Who would you be? And why? Kennedy. I think she is fun, smart and tells the truth.

Flirting Questions
Which actor or book character do you have a crush on? This is a hard one. I can list five! Let’s do the book characters. Elec from Stepbrother Dearest. Casey from Bait. Mateo from Love, In English.
Tristian from Bad Things.

What’s your favorite body part of the opposite sex? Arms. I have a thing for nice arms.

What does love feel like? Consuming, over the top happiness. The constant butterflies that never stop flapping their wings.

Hey, baby! What’s your sign? Capricorn. Stubborn as they come :)

When was your last kiss? About 30 minutes ago.

What’s an absolute no-no in a relationship? Smoking.

How did you meet your significant other? We worked on a case together.

What’s your idea of a perfect date? Something active. Dinner and a movie is great but I love to get out and do something different. Go to a batting cage, mini golf, take a hike. It makes you sit there and have to talk to each other.

If you could take a romantic trip, where would it be? I would love to visit Paris. There is something truly romantic about that city.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Yes. I fall in love with chocolate every time I see it. :) I wouldn’t say I believe in love at first sight I believe is a killer attraction at first sight. Author links:

1.    What sparked your interest in becoming a romance writer? It was reading romance that made me want to write it. I’d always written, but never finished anything. I knew I liked writing, but hadn’t found my passion for it yet. I discovered Harlequin Presents and knew those were the books I wanted to write. That was when vague desire to do something became passion. Those books, those authors, are why I’m writing.

2.    What is your writing environment: I’m fortunate enough to have an office at home with a locking door. Essential when there are children or husbands in the house. I also have a desk cat, who likes to plant herself right in front of my computer monitor. She feels she is my inspiration.

3.    Do you plan all your characters out before you start a story or do they develop as you write? Both. I need a clear idea of my characters before I can start. But they often reveal secrets to me as I write. I think I have to start writing before I find their voices and before I really find out all the things they’re hiding.

4.    Which authors have caught your interest lately? Why? I’m a big historical reader. Julie Ann Long is a recent discover (So late to the party!). Her dialogue is so witty, and the books are truly funny, but along with that you get true depth of emotion, and I love that. I’m also loving Nicole Helm’s contemporary romances, really for the same reasons. They seem so light and amusing on the surface, smooth, quick writing and great humor, but the emotional depth comes up and punches you in the stomach and makes you cry. I like a book to make me laugh AND cry into my pillow.

5.    How did you get the idea for this particular novel? The heroine’s bed and breakfast came first. Which is strange. But I live in a historic town in Oregon, and there is a house here that was ordered from the Sears and Roebuck catalog. I’ve always found that so fascinating. The Catalog House in Part Time Cowboy was the jumping off point.

Flirting Questions

1.    Which actor or book character do you have a crush on? I’m currently in love with the Duke, in What I Did For A Duke, by Julie Ann Long. As for actors? That’s a long list. Matt Bomer is definitely a front runner. He can wear a suit like no one’s business.

2.    What does love feel like? I’ve been married for 10 years this Spring. We’ve weathered poverty and raising a special needs child and I would say love feels a lot like work, sacrifice, security, and completion. Like a warm blanket on a cold night. Like something so big and wonderful you can’t contain it all inside so you have to share it. Love grows all the time. It’s active and changing, and steady all at once. That’s why it’s so powerful.

3.    When was your last kiss? This morning when my husband took the kids to school.

4.    How did you meet your significant other? We met at church. But really got to know each other when we were working at a coffee shop together. We were friends first. Well, we’re still friends. ;)

5.    If you could take a romantic trip, where would it be? We just went to Oahu, sans children. That was magical! Hawaii is one of the most incredible places I’ve ever been.

Flirting Quickies:

Facial hair or clean shaven? BEARDS!

Alpha or Beta? Alpha

Coffee or tea? Coffee

Sweet or salty? Salted Caramel

City or Country? Country
Clubbing or candlelight dinner? Dinner
Backpacking or luxury hotel? Luxury Hotel. I’m a country girl who likes a comfy bed.
Morning or night person? Night, sadly. I’m trying to convert.
Christmas or Halloween? Christmas!
Optimist or pessimist? Optimist.

Blurb
Newly minted librarian, Cara Baker, effectively cuts ties with her tumultuous life in Pittsburgh, and moves to South Carolina where she embraces the peaceful, laid-back style of small town living. Everything seems to be falling into place when Cara finds the perfect house to round out her new plans. Well… perfect except for the immovable hermit living on the top floor. She throws caution to the wind, and buys the fabulous house—hermit and all—without meeting him. By wooing her reclusive renter with notes and mouthwatering meals, he caves and invites her up to the apartment. Preconceived notions are blown out of the water, when she finds Danny isn’t the nerdy Mr. Mole she envisioned.

Unfortunately, FBI phone calls from her past bring Cara’s summer idle to an abrupt halt. Will demons from a former life destroy Cara’s tranquility?

Bio
Ellen Butler lives in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC, and she considers herself an old-new writer. In other words, she’s old to writing, new to novel writing. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Policy, and her history includes a long list of writing and editing for dry but illuminating professional newsletters, and windy papers on public policy. The leap to novel writing was simply a creative outlet for Ellen’s over active and romantic imagination to run wild.

You can find Ellen’s debut release, Second Chance Christmas, at Amazon. Professionally, she belongs to the Virginia Writer’s Club, the Northern Virginia Writer’s Club, and is a founding member of the Tempting Romance blog. When she’s not writing, Ellen is either, running around after her children, decorating a neighbor’s house, or holed up in her favorite lounge chair reading. Ellen is an admitted chocoholic and confesses to a penchant for shoe shopping. Book club questions for Ellen’s novels can be found on her website.

I just wanted to thank the hostesses of Flirting with Romance for having me. I enjoy reaching out to new readers and am excited to share my new novel Poplar Place with them. It’s what I like to call a Women’s Fiction with a Chick Lit style flair, and is a fun book to take with you on your spring break or summer vacation. Before we get into all that, I’ve answered a few of the ladies’ probing questions.

What’s your favorite body part of the opposite sex?
I would have to say the eyes. There is something intriguing when you stare into the eyes of the one you love. So much information can be gleaned just looking into his eyes – laughter, anger, hurt, joy. The eyes are indeed the windows to our souls.

Hey, baby! What’s your sign?
I’m a Gemini, the sign of the Twin. It’s a fluid sign, and I will admit to having a distinct public vs. private persona. (Some might call it bipolar)

How did you meet your significant other?
My sister introduced us via email. So, that’s how our relationship started, electronically (so 21st Century). We began chatting back and forth over email until my husband finally worked up the nerve to call me. The rest is history.
Every so often my sister holds out her hand and requests her matchmaking fee. I tell her she can have it on our 50th Anniversary…just to make sure the marriage took.

What’s your idea of a perfect date?
I live in the Washington, DC area, and I absolutely love when spring arrives. The trees are blooming, the sun is out and there’s no humidity in the air. A perfect date would happen on one of these beautiful seventy degree days, with a picnic on the National Mall overlooking the Lincoln Memorial.

If you could take a romantic trip, where would it be?
Italy. It’s on my bucket list to take a driving trip through Tuscany, Italy. I want to stay in wonderful old villas that serve the best Italian meals you could find and drink all the local wine. And, while I’m there, I’ll visit Rome. See the marvelous ruins, as well as stopover at the Vatican, and maybe take a selfie with the Pope!

Flirting Quickies:

Boxers or Briefs?
Boxers

Facial hair or clean shaven?
Clean shaven

White wine or red?
Red

Vanilla or chocolate?
Chocolate, of course!

Sleep in or get up early?
Sleep in!!

Laptop or desktop?
Laptop. I like to be mobile.
Winter or summer?
Winter.

Cat or dog?
Dog

City or Country?
City

Backpacking or luxury hotel?
Luxury hotel! I don’t like to camp because I don’t like nature. It freaks me out.

Christmas or Halloween?
Halloween!

Poplar Place Excerpt

I resigned myself to returning the FBI phone calls. I couldn’t put it off any longer. Both Bryant and Hutchins had left phone messages again yesterday, and their persistence made me nervous. Rolling out of bed, I shuffled downstairs to start the coffee, my liquid courage. I drank half a cup and dialed. Hutchins didn’t answer. I braced myself and dialed Special Agent Bryant.
“Bryant.”
“It’s Cara Baker.”
“Listen, I have some news. The U.S. Marshals have lost contact with Tony Rizolli.”
I paused to digest this.
“Cara?”
“You must be joking! How the hell did that happen?”
“His tracking anklet was cut, and he disappeared.”
“Do they think he’s been whacked?”
“They’re not sure.”
“Why are you calling me? You do realize I no longer work for the DA’s office.”
“Yes, we know that.”
Exasperated I asked, “Then why are you calling to tell me this? Not much I can do.”
“I’m concerned about your safety. Tony bore a lot of hostility toward you.”
“The FBI’s concerned, or you’re concerned?”
“I’m concerned.” He stated matter-of-factly.
“What does the FBI think?”
“The FBI thinks there’s a leak in the Marshals’ office and Rizolli’s six feet under.”
“Why does Tony have so much animosity toward me? He walked into a shiny new life provided by the American taxpayers.”
“The money.”
I took a moment, rubbing a hand across my eyes. “What does he know?”
“We’re not sure. I think one of the pencil pushers at the Marshals’ office told him about the Cayman accounts during relocation. There was very little legitimate money he could take into the program. He wasn’t happy about it.”
I sucked in a breath. “Agent Bryant….”
“Call me Tom.”
“Tom, what exactly are you worried about?”
“If Rizolli isn’t sleeping with the fish, he’s a loose cannon. I don’t trust him. You may be in danger.”
“And?”
“And you need to watch your back. Call me or Hutchins if you see anything suspicious. I mean anything out of the ordinary. If you see a strange car in the neighborhood, get the plates and call me.”
“I’ll take that under advisement, Agent Bryant. What about Denise?”
“She’s covered. I’ve called in some favors.”

“Fine. Please let me know if anything new develops.”
