[Review Tour] In the Nick of Time by Sylvie Fox

In The Nick of Time
By: Sylvie Fox

Blurb:
Hot nights, huge consequences.
Divorced and done with her dry spell, Holly Prentice is ready to get back in the game. But with two conditions: her future mate can’t be married to his career, and he has to have a couch.  Nick Andreis loves his job, and his only furniture is a king-size bed. He’s also single, sexy, and six years Holly’s junior.  Any guy this hunky and carefree can’t be serious about the future.
After one spontaneous and explosive night, Holly decides that her search for Mr. Right can wait.  Nick can be Mr. Right Now.
Nick has waited years for Holly.  Now that she’s dating again, he’s determined to be the only man in her life.  He wants what Holly wants: forever.  Convincing her of that won’t be easy, but Nick agrees—with fingers crossed behind his back—to Holly’s idea that they can be bed buddies until someone serious comes along.  His plan: use the time between their passionate nights to convince her that he is the one.
Will Holly’s unexpected pregnancy change the rules of their games? Or can they both decide to play for keeps?

Book Excerpt:

Another great read by Sylvie Fox. There’s so much I loved about this story, that I don’t know where to start. I think the best part was the emotion. So much emotion behind the characters’ motivation and drive – it almost scared me (in a good way). This makes the story and characters REAL and a reader couldn’t ask for anything better. Holly and Nick are real characters – to the bone. Holly is an older woman (but I daresay 31 isn’t too old!) and Nick is the younger man. This is a huge barrier for Holly, since she’s ready to settle down and have a family. Nick, on the other hand, is quite mature for his age. He’s successful, driven and totally in love with Holly. That’s Nick’s most endearing quality – his love for her that never falters until… I don’t want any spoilers.

The “until” is what snagged me. I wanted to reach through the pages and jerk Nick around. It was obvious he was head over heels in love with Holly – he even knew it – so why the hesitation. This was the REAL factor again. It was just a reasonable response by a young man. So, bravo Sylvie Fox! You drew me in, you had me swooning with the hot (and I mean SCORCHING) sex scenes, sighing at the sweetness of the hero, and screaming at the main characters all at the same time.

In the Nick of Time receives 4 winks from Flirting With Romance! I’ll be reading Sylvie Fox again!

Author bio:

I write the kinds of books I love to read. The quirky characters in my romance novels experience angst, conflict, mostly great sex, and always get their "happily ever after." In my mainstream fiction, ordinary woman experience angst, conflict, and occasional great sex, but they also get embroiled in struggles against extraordinary odds, and I don't promise a happy ending. I also love thrillers, but I don't write those.  I live in Los Angeles with my husband, son, and a whole lot of pets. When I'm not hanging out in Hollywood, I'm eating my way through Budapest.

Puppy Love
by Sylvie Fox

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
There are only two things Sophie Reid doesn’t do: lawyers and sex. When sexy, lawyer Ryan Becker stumbles into her life, her first two thoughts are “no,” and “definitely no.” After Sophie and Ryan rescue a dog from certain death on the Hollywood Freeway, they share one smoldering kiss. Sophie knows a potential train wreck when she sees it and leaves the dog and Ryan at the pound knowing she’ll never see either of them again.
Poor kid turned corporate attorney, Ryan vowed he’d get an education, succeed, and be welcomed in the front door of the most stately homes in Beverly Hills. Now that his career is on an upward trajectory, he is ready to settle down. Unfortunately, the women he has been meeting haven’t set his heart racing. Enter: Sophie.
A master of persuasion by profession, Ryan convinces Sophie to pursue their undeniable mutual attraction. But Ryan’s quest to be a success at the very occupation she reviles rankles her.
When a Hollywood union strikes, Ryan and Sophie find themselves on opposite sides of the bargaining table. Can their sparks in the bedroom overcome their standoff in the boardroom?
EXCERPT:
REVIEW:
Three Winks
I love reading a good "opposites attract" story. This one doesn't disappoint. Sophie, a care-free artist from a ritzy life swears she will never get involved with someone like her father -- a well-known judge. However, Ryan doesn't let that happen. Ryan is a lawyer, but he worked hard to make it to the top, after living life in the slums.
Every chapter Sophie has a different color hair, a different attitude and a different opinion about Ryan.
Ryan on the other hand always stays firm and true to what he wants... and that's Sophie.
I really enjoyed the beginning and how Sophie and Ryan meet -- through Sasha a run-away dog on the freeway. Ryan immediately shows his Alpha-male ways by following Sophie and kissing her when she least expects it.
My favorite parts of the book were the sensual scenes. Even though I felt sorry for Sophie, having never reached an orgasm with a man, I loved that Ryan took the challenge and found a way to make Sophie enjoy sex. The scenes were hot and sexy, just how I like them.
I gave the story three winks, only because parts seemed unrealistic. Ryan fell in love so quickly and I didn't see how when Sophie kept rejecting him OVER and OVER. At times, I wanted to reach inside the book and smack Sophie on the head. Luckily, she comes to her senses and I didn't have to do it. I recommend the book. It's a quick read with lots of spiciness for romance lovers. It won't disappoint.
