Wedding planner Kate Ashby’s fear of flying is eased by a sexy stranger and one slow lip lock that rockets her into another obit.
CEO Luke Cannon has just traded seats with his identical twin. Little did he know that an innocent kiss while pretending he was his brother would soon create havoc.
What happens in the air doesn’t stay up there. Once on tropical land, Kate believes that the handsome stranger who gave her the best kiss of her life is now her new client, Drew Cannon, fiancé to the beautiful and wealthy Lauren Kincaid. While Kate struggles with the intense feelings she thinks she has for Drew, Luke discovers Kate’s been hired to plan his brother’s destination wedding. He also realizes the initial sparks they shared 30,000 feet up are now mistakenly aimed at Drew.
Can Luke get Kate to realize that the feelings she has are for him? He’s got forty-eight hours in paradise to try.

What a fun book! It had me laughing, squeeing, sighing ... all the right feelings while I read a romance! What I especially enjoyed were the twists and turns and boy were there a bunch! I never knew what would happen next all while routing for this couple to get together! They so deserved it.
As a bad flyer and a klutz, I appreciated a character I could completely relate with. Kate had me laughing from the first page and her mantra "I do. I do." had me cracking up! Luke, the hero, was a sweet guy who had me when he decided to buy Kate a very special present. Of course he messed up a long the way with all his crazy madeup stories, but that added to the comedy of the story. The secondary characters were also a fun lot. Miles, the assistant, had hilarious lines throughout. Drew, the twin brother, and even Olivia the ex-girlfriend were nice additions too. You won't be bored with this book. So many great moments I didn't want to put it down. Five winks for Destination Wedding!

*Book Review* The Best Man by Kristan Higgins -5 Winks

ARC Review

Title: The Best Man
Author: Kristan Higgins
Publisher: HQN
Date: February 22, 2013

BLURB:
SOMETIMES THE BEST MAN IS THE ONE YOU LEAST EXPECT...

Faith Holland left her hometown after being jilted at the altar. Now a little older and wiser, she’s ready to return to the Blue Heron Winery, her family’s vineyard, to confront the ghosts of her past, and maybe enjoy a glass of red. After all, there’s some great scenery there....
Like Levi Cooper, the local police chief—and best friend of her former fiancé. There’s a lot about Levi that Faith never noticed, and it’s not just those deep green eyes. The only catch is she’s having a hard time forgetting that he helped ruin her wedding all those years ago. If she can find a minute amidst all her family drama to stop and smell the rosé, she just might find a reason to stay at Blue Heron, and finish that walk down the aisle.

REVIEW:
Higgins has done it again – a great mix of humor, complex storyline, and unique characters. My quick fondness for Levi, the subdued hero, fascinated me. Levi is a man of few words, but we still know his every thought, emotion, and feeling. It’s sexy as hell. Always wanting out of his little town, leaving the poverty behind, he joined the army and served in Afghanistan. Upon leaving the army, he moved back to town and became the town’s favorite Chief of Police. Behind his tough exterior, the reader finds a sensitive and caring man who takes care of his little sister, bakes cookies at night and goes out of his way to serve the people.

Unfortunately for Levi, Faith hates him – or so she thinks. Ever since he stopped her wedding to his best friend who turned out to be gay, she’s held a grudge against him. When Faith returns to her family business, Blue Heron Winery, she keeps her mind busy with a landscaping job and finding a girlfriend for her widowed father. All the while, Levi keeps turning up at every corner, saving her from trouble. Faith is a heroine to love. She is independent, caring, fun, and a bit “lush” which is nice to find in a character. It makes her real.

The best part of the story is the witty dialogue between all the characters. Every page had me laughing and routing for the characters to finally find love, even in the earlier teenage memories. You will not want to miss this one!
