[Book Tour] Broken Secrets in Madison Falls by Rachel Hanna

Broken: Secrets in Madison Falls
by Rachel Hanna

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
When twenty-four year old Bella Clay experiences yet another major loss in her life, she is forced to come home and become a young, single mother to her seven year old nephew. No one in the small town of Madison Falls knows just how damaged she is, and they certainly don't know her dirty little secret about where she's been for the last two years.
Grant Brady is the local hunk who works as the elementary school PE and history teacher. When he takes an interest in helping Bella start over in Madison Falls, she tries to push him away afraid that he will find out her dark secrets. What she doesn't know is that Grant has a secret of his own.
Will love prevail or will one or both of them run for the hills out of fear?
This book is a novella, so you can enjoy it in just one day! :)
Excerpt:
Desiree fell to her knees in the dingy bathroom. Her eyes glazed over with tears as her stomach churned into a sea of nausea. She was sure she had blacked out for a moment before she vomited into the toilet that was thankfully close to her. Falling apart was not something she was accustomed to doing. She had always been the protector when it came to Lori, but now the one person she swore she would always protect was gone. Just like her Mom.
Gathering her things, she put on her clothes and swung open the door to the bathroom. Brushing past Nathan and Derek, she headed for the door. Getting to her car was her only concern at that point as tunnel vision took her over.
“Desiree, where in the hell do you think you’re going?” Nathan called to her as she grabbed the handle to leave.
“I have an emergency,” she said gritting her teeth. It should have been obvious that her eyes were swollen and red from crying, and her supposedly waterproof mascara was cascading down her sunken cheeks.
“I don’t give a damn about your so-called emergency, Desiree. You signed a contract…” he started to say as he grabbed her arm tightly.
“Let go of me, Nathan, or I swear to God I will kill you right here and now,” she growled at him as she stared him down nose-to-nose. After a pause, he loosened his grip, and she jerked her arm away as she ran out the door.
“You will never work in this town again!” he yelled behind her.
“Good!” she yelled back as she slammed the door on her VW Bug and sped out of the parking lot.
What is your writing environment? * My writing environment changes from day to day. Some days, I sit at my desk while other days I might pile up in my bed with my laptop. My favorite days are when I get to sit outside on my deck overlooking the forest and write on my iPad. It all depends on what kind of scenes I am writing that day and how comfortable I need to be!
Do you plan all your characters out before you start a story or do they develop as you write? * I always have some idea of who my characters are as people, but I am more of a “pantser” (which means I write by the seat of my pants rather than planning every little part). For some reason, if I outline or plan to much, I lose my creative juices.
What’s the last movie you watched and loved? * I love “Sweet Home Alabama”, which seems to come on TV all the time now, because it's a great mix of humor and love. I think it has one of the best kissing scenes (in the Coon dog graveyard) in movie history. I also love “The Notebook”.
Most _____________ in high school. (popular, nerdy, sporty…) Why? * I would say most focused. I realized later that I was popular, but not in the typical sense. I wasn't on the cheerleading squad or into sports, but I was nice to people which meant I had a lot of friends that were different from each other. I was focused on doing well and making a career when I left, so I didn't party at all in high school. I just wanted to get out and go to college, which I did. And while I was in college, I wanted to get out and go to work.
If you could be one of your characters - Who would you be? And why? * I would be Camden Lane in “Love In The Falls”. I think Sam is one of my most popular characters as the handsome cowboy who needed her help, and I wouldn't have minded be her for awhile.
Flirting Questions:
Which actor or book character do you have a crush on? * I have a serious crush on Dan Stevens who played Matthew on “Downton Abbey”, but they killed him off!
What’s your favorite body part of the opposite sex? * I like a good, strong, chiseled chest.
What does love feel like? * Warm and safe and exciting and comforting
Hey, baby! What’s your sign? *Capricorn
When was your last kiss? * Last night! A good marriage always involves lots of kissing, even after 17 years!
What’s an absolute no-no in a relationship? * Cheating. For me, it's a deal breaker. I guess I'm not very forgiving on certain things, but I respect those couples that somehow work through it.
How did you meet your significant other? * He worked for the same company and we crossed paths one day. The rest is history!
What’s your idea of a perfect date? * A nice dinner and something fun like bowling or skating.
If you could take a romantic trip, where would it be? * Italy or Hawaii – two places I've never been!
Do you believe in love at first sight? * I believe in twinges of what COULD be love at first sight. I had that with my husband, but I don't think you can truly love a person until you know who they are at heart.
